Durante Magnificat is a five-movement piece that is part of the vespers service and is typically performed in a church setting. The movements are as follows:

  1. Magnificat: This movement is based on the text of the Magnificat, which is a hymn of praise to the Virgin Mary.
  2. Et misericordia: This movement is based on the text “And his mercy is on them that fear him throughout all generations”.
  3. Deposuit potentes: This movement is based on the text “He hath put down the mighty from their seat, and hath exalted the humble and meek”.
  4. Suscepit Israel: This movement is based on the text “He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy”.
  5. Sicut locutus est: This movement is based on the text “As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever”.
